The ASD Ijshaamanka was founded in 2004 by the will of Monia Mattioli, artistic director trained in Italy and London in classical dance, in the Netherlands at the University of Theater Arts (theaterschool), SNDO Development Department of New Contemporary Dance.
Over the years, the school has grown steadily every year by expanding the range of teachers and disciplines, relying on an exclusive 200-meter seat with access for the disabled in Serra De Conti, with an integrated dance theater research center in Pergola and with branch offices in Corinaldo and Frontone, and Pergola.
It has over 185 members from the provinces of Pesaro-Urbino and Ancona. The school employs a team of 10 qualified teachers, researchers, choreographers who follow both dance courses throughout the year. They and are operational teams in other 6 thematic and organizational areas that the association deals with, from research for development in integrated theater dance methodology, the strategic organization of cultural events such as festivals / seminars, reviews throughout the year, and actively participate in European Erasmus projects in which the association has been the leader since 2018.
